What is it

Proactive monitoring for those who can't wait for a problem to become a crisis

Power Monitor is a SaaS solution developed by Power Tuning for administrators and managers of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments. Instead of discovering problems when a user complains, you are notified in real time — before the impact.

From dataset refresh failures to overloaded capacities, offline gateways and notebooks with errors: everything centralized in a single dashboard, with automatic alerts and detailed reports.

Real-time alerts
Immediate notifications when any anomaly is detected in the environment
100% SaaS — no installation
Browser-based access, no installation on local servers required
From small to enterprise environments
Manage environments of any size and complexity
Features

Everything you need to keep
your environment healthy

From capacity monitoring to full inventory — one platform, zero surprises.

Refresh Failures

Immediately detects when a dataset, paginated report or dataflow fails to refresh, with error details and history.

Datasets Paginated Reports History

Fabric / Embedded Capacities

Monitors CPU and background usage of F-SKU, P-SKU and A-SKU capacities. Alerts when they reach critical usage or go offline.

Microsoft Fabric PBI Embedded Premium

Data Gateways

Tracks the health of on-premises gateways in real time. Notifies when a gateway goes offline or shows performance degradation.

On-premises Status Availability

Dataflows (Gen1 & Gen2)

Monitors dataflow executions, detects failures, slowdowns and stuck executions, with detailed performance metrics.

Dataflow Gen1 Dataflow Gen2 Performance

Fabric Notebooks

Tracks notebook executions in Microsoft Fabric. Detects failures, timeouts and abnormally slow executions.

Microsoft Fabric Executions Errors

Semantic Models

Monitors Power BI semantic model (dataset) refreshes. Alerts on failures, slowdowns and data source errors — with a complete execution history.

DirectQuery Import Mode History

Permissions & Access

Consolidated reports of who accesses what. Ideal for security audits, LGPD/GDPR compliance and permission reviews.

LGPD Audit Security

Performance Analysis

Identifies slow reports, heavy queries and modeling bottlenecks. Analyzes DAX measures, model best practices and usage patterns to keep your environment healthy.

DAX Modeling Best Practices

Governance & Inventory

Complete tenant inventory with bulk actions: disable artifacts, manage permissions and ensure compliance across the environment — with full visibility of who has access to what.

Semantic Model Monitoring

Semantic models (formerly called datasets) are the heart of your Power BI environment. Power Monitor tracks every refresh, alerts on failures, monitors execution time and provides detailed history — so you know exactly what is happening with each semantic model in your tenant.

Immediate alert on semantic model refresh failure
Complete execution history per semantic model
Average refresh time and slowdown trends
Monitoring of models in DirectQuery and Import mode
Correlation with gateway and capacity failures

Capacity Monitoring

Track your Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Embedded capacity usage in real time. Power Monitor detects three critical situations: very high background usage, overall usage above the limit, and capacities completely offline — alerting you before the impact reaches users.

Background usage above limit alert
Critical overall capacity usage alert
Notification when capacity goes offline
Support for F-SKU, P-SKU and A-SKU (Fabric, Premium, Embedded)
Usage history and trends

Gateway Monitoring

Offline gateways are responsible for many silent refresh failures. Power Monitor continuously checks the status of your on-premises gateways, immediately alerting when there are connectivity issues or performance degradation.

Real-time offline gateway detection
High resource utilization alert
Availability history per gateway
Correlation with refresh failures

Refresh Monitoring

Never rely on a user to know a dataset failed. Power Monitor detects Power BI refresh failures as they happen, with error details to speed up remediation.

Immediate alert on refresh failure
Error details for quick diagnosis
Execution history and success rate
Average refresh time per dataset
Paginated reports included

Notebook Monitoring

If your team uses notebooks in Microsoft Fabric to process data, Power Monitor ensures full visibility into the health of those executions. Detects failures, slow executions and stuck notebooks — with automatic alerts.

Notebook execution failure detection
Alert for executions exceeding expected time
Identification of stuck notebooks
Execution history and performance metrics
Total visibility

Inventory, Permissions & Access

Far beyond operational monitoring — get deep knowledge of your environment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Use the chatbot in the bottom corner or reach us on WhatsApp.

Does Power Monitor access my report data?

No. Power Monitor only monitors management metadata — refresh status, capacity health, permissions and inventory. The content and data of your reports are never accessed.

Do I need to install anything on a server?

No. Power Monitor is 100% SaaS. Just open your browser, log in with your Microsoft account and grant permissions — no local installation required.

How does "item" billing work?

An item is any Fabric or Power BI artifact (report, semantic model, dataflow, notebook, capacity, gateway, etc.). The count is done automatically when you connect the tenant, with no manual configuration.

Does it work with Power BI Premium and Embedded?

Yes. Power Monitor supports Microsoft Fabric (F-SKU), Power BI Premium (P-SKU) and Power BI Embedded (A-SKU) capacities.

Where is my tenant data stored?

Power Monitor is hosted on Microsoft Azure in Brazil. All metadata is processed securely, in accordance with Power Tuning's and Microsoft's privacy policies, without third-party sharing.

Is Power Monitor a Microsoft product?

No. Power Monitor is developed by Power Tuning, a Microsoft-certified partner since 2018. Microsoft is not responsible for the product, but our integrations use the official Fabric and Power BI APIs.

How long does installation take?

The full setup takes only 5 minutes. Go to app.powermonitor.com.br, log in with your Microsoft account, grant permissions and the system starts automatic environment discovery.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! Power Monitor offers a FREE 14-day trial directly in your own environment — no credit card, no commitment. Test it in practice and prove the solution works before subscribing. Contact us on WhatsApp or schedule a demo to get started.

Does Power Monitor monitor semantic models?

Yes. Semantic models — previously called datasets — are closely monitored by Power Monitor. You receive immediate alerts on refresh failures, track the complete execution history, identify growing slowdowns and correlate failures with gateway or capacity issues.

Is Power Monitor free in the managed plan?

Yes! When you hire Power Tuning's managed monitoring service (where our team proactively monitors your environment), Power Monitor is already included in the contract price — you pay nothing extra for it. It's ideal for companies without a dedicated internal Fabric or Power BI specialist. Our team receives alerts and acts before issues affect your users. Talk to a specialist for more details.
